A 32-year-old man has been arrested in London on suspicion of terror offences linked to Syria.
Scotland Yard says he has been held on suspicion of attending a place used for terrorist training.
Two properties in London - one in the west and the other southwest - have been searched as part of the investigation.
Earlier, a 25-year-old woman was arrested in Bedfordshire and taken into custody on suspicion of preparing terrorist acts in connection with Syria.
She was taken to a central London police station and two properties in Bedfordshire were searched.
Both the man and the woman were arrested by counter-terrorism police.
The arrests are the latest in a number of raids on people living in the UK suspected of terror offences linked to the Syrian conflict.
Last week five men appeared in court accused of conspiring to shoot dead police and soldiers in London in an Islamic State-inspired plot.
Around 500 Britons are estimated to have travelled to Syria to fight.
