Stabbed Teacher Ann Maguire Mourned At Funeral

Ann Maguire's husband and children have arrived at church for a funeral mass in memory of the stabbed teacher.

The 61-year-old died when she was attacked at Corpus Christi Catholic College in Leeds, where she had taught for more than 40 years.

Mrs Maguire's husband Don, 62, arrived at the Catholic Church of the Immaculate Heart of Mary in the Moortown area of the city along with other family members.

Her daughters Emma and Kerry and nephews Daniel and Andrew, whom she treated as her sons following the death of her sister, accompanied him in two black cars.

Mourners included the head of Corpus Christi, Steve Mort, who arrived with three children from the school dressed in uniform.

Mrs Maguire's coffin was received at the church yesterday and family members attended a private mass.

She was stabbed on April 28 and died later that day in hospital.

A 15-year-old boy charged with her murder will go on trial later this year.
