Clifford 'Not Interested In Silly Little Girls'

Public relations guru Max Clifford has admitted he was greedy with women and enjoyed extramarital affairs - but insisted he was never interested in "silly little girls".

Becoming increasingly agitated during cross examination, Clifford told Southwark Crown Court: "I wasn't sexually frustrated. I was very happy with my sex life."

The 70-year-old described having multiple "loving relationships" - with no need to pursue young girls.

"I didn't need to impress young girls to achieve sexual satisfaction," he said.

Clifford continued: "It has never been me, that's not the person I ever was. I happen to like women, yes sure, and I have had some wonderful relationships in my life. I like women, is that a crime?"

The publicist also revealed he had topless women in his office as part of a practical joke.

He said it was "very unusual, but it did happen".

Clifford also acknowledged he was involved in a bet between comedians Freddie Starr and Lennie Bennett in which he had to entice a female traffic warden to his office and take revealing photos of her with the promise of a television appearance.

The PR consultant, from Hersham, in Surrey, then read a passage from his autobiography in which he described the bet as a "good game" and "so easy I played it several times".

Clifford, who denies 11 counts of indecent assault, claimed the allegations against him were simply "opportunistic".

As prosecutor Rosina Cottage QC continued her cross examination, Clifford was taken through his diaries from the late 1970s.

They featured frequent lunch appointments with multiple women, including employees - some of whom he has admitted having affairs with.

The trial continues.
